Krystee, I want to thank you for posting that video, you just sold me on the Lot-o tumbler. I've been thinking about one for quite some time now and boy that really shows how it moves. It is said that it produces a shine faster than the standard tumbler, but I've not heard that from any members here. Think I will be getting one soon.

cream came up fast in only 30 minutes. You may have a softer stone or two inthere thatis making allthe cream. might have to pull that one early. enjoy! YEP, you nailed that one! Had one really pretty yellow agate slabette (not exactly sure what it is, seen it before but couldn't find it again when I started looking) that undercut badly in the face cut veins, and another that had a soft spot that crumbled. I knew the soft spot was there when I cut it but since there was nothing else I could do with that stone I threw it in anyway. I ended up taking out a lot of the preforms and adding in (previously roughed in the rotaries) rose, amethyst, smokey and tiger eye. I am REALLY trying to get a polish on the blue quartz in there that's been giving me trouble for a couple of months. In 1000 now, the quartz look fantastic (except for the blue ...buggers) It is taking a bit of shine but still looks a tad frosty. Much better than before though, they will probably need a little more tweaking. The others, including a couple little Montanna preforms look like glass and I'm not even to the polish yet! Diggin' the Lot'O ~K

Krystee, I want to thank you for posting that video. Your welcome!!! When I was researching the Lot-O I could not find videos of it anywhere! I wanted a completely different setup than my old Raytech. Obviously, seeing it in action answered the questions you had about it? That's awesome ~K

Do you owners of the Lot-O's use a separate barrel for the coarser grades? Also, are there any problem running like 180 in that, or even a 60/90?? I've got some really hard stuff to tumble and my old dual 3 pounder is about to give up the ghost.

Robin, I have a barrel for polish and a barrel for 1000,very seldom 500 in it.Haven't used any coarser grit than that in the Lot-o.The inside of the barrels look to have no wear at all, over a year of constant use. But I've got many rotaries feeding it. I'm going to mention the problem Lot-o's had a while back. Mine was pretty noisy when I got it,didnt know any better. Well, they were having a problem with the motors and the bearings went bad in mine. Had to get a new motor after 4 months, purred after that. Dont want to scare any body away from them, though, I love mine. They changed up their bearings and problem solved apparently.Anyway, mine runs constantly and is doing its job.

I want to add one thing that I do with my Lot-o. Sometimes a rock will come up and push the top loose and sometimes off completely. An 8 inch piece of duct tape taped across the lid and two sides will solve this. Ihad a batch in prepolish one time and the lid came off and they completely dried overnight.Believe me you dont want that to happen. snuffy

Ugh, no flying top off yet, will definately keep watching for that! Here's a link to my first batch.... Pride to Ho-Hum, great though for first batch, better first results than any other tumbler I've ever used! forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=trtphoto&action=display&thread=42260Didn't know whether to post here, blue quartz suggestions, or new thread? Started new thread. Hope that was what I was supposed to do.... ~Krystee
