The whole slab is awesome, but there are some areas that are the bomb...

OOH, thats purty!! seriuosly every square inch of that slab is an awesome cab, or just polish it and display it. Lee I think it is very attractive, and would have polished it as it. While I agree with Todd that some areas are "the bomb" I didn't see what Lee seemed to be seeing. I kept noticing small cracks to be avoided, or thinking about how difficult it can be to incorporate druze. Mostly the "bomb" parts did not seem to be surrounded by enough of a good cab shape to make an overall balanced cab design. I was wrong. I thought if I had it in hand with a template, that there might be one or two nice cabs discovered. Sliding a template around until something "pops" does help me see things. There are other slabs posted here where I literally do see a great cab in every square inch. Not so much this one. But once I took the image into PhotoShop, I kept finding cab compositions I liked until almost every square inch was used. I did make a correction for the perspective the picture was shot from, and I had to clone out the sharpie marker. I may also have used areas with a tiny hairline fracture or some pitting not apparent in the photo. So, not every virtual cab I took may be realizable. But overall I was surprised how what struck me as a difficult slab yielded so many virtual cabs where the lines and color, and even druze, seemed to be working well.

For me the best way to make cabs out of that slab, would be to drop it on the floor and free form the cabs from there, but this one is my favorite, I won't cut it.
