Two years ago I had a contest called "The Twelve Days Of Christmas", and I think everyone had a lot of fun participating. I was so busy last year that I missed the "2nd annual...", so I am picking up where I left off and having another 12 Days of Christmas contest. The rules are simple: For each of 12 days leading up towards Christmas day, I will be giving a prize to whoever supplies the best answer to the Question of the Day for that prize. I haven't decided on all the questions ahead of time, so who knows what the exact topic will be each day. Each day I will announce the winner of the previous day's contest, and I will post the question and prize offered for the next day's contest. Most of the prizes will be rock related, but not necessarily all of them. And the best prize will be saved for the last day. Remember that I am looking for witty, humorous, heartwarming, clever, and ingenious answers. In other words, give it your best thought and see if you can snag the prize of the day. Not everyone may have an answer for each day's question, so you can always try for the next day's prize. Please... only one prize per person, so others can have a chance to win. You can still post an answer though, since we want all the fun we can get out of this contest. The first question will be: What is the best gag gift you have seen at Christmas? It can be one that you gave, one that you received, or one that you witnessed. Remember, there is probably a pretty wide definition of what a gag gift is. The prize for today is an oco geode slice pendant (with lots of nice, sparkly crystals inside) electroformed in 18kt gold, with a gold-filled ring attached. Vance aka free4rms

Vance, this is awesome! Thank you for doing this. I remember the last one and it was great fun.
Hmmm... I'll have to put my thinking cap on and search my memory for this one...

At work my home brew used to be pretty famous and there were a two who always had more than thier fair share. Remember its summer here in Oz at Christmas and when I was doing up my gifts I always gave 3 longnecks of cold brew to my mates. But one year I only gave cold water to the two gluttons, I would have loved to have seen thier faces when they got home and poured themselves a coldie, I better not say what they gave me the next year. Many years back my coworkers and I were invited to the boss' house for a Christmas party. White elephant gifts were indicated, but half of us didn't know what they were, and others thought they were optional. They weren't. Our boss started pulling stuff out of her kitchen cabinets and off her walls so that there were enough gifts to go around.
One person got a half-used bottle of pepto-bismo, someone else a waffle maker, but I got the best one. A pair of hand-carved mahogoney goldfish that she had picked up in Trinidad-Tobago.
Not very funny, but it is the best I have. Water in the beer bottles was much better. Better luck next round...

I've got a friend, Bob who lives up the hill from me who is a fantastic gardener. He fills in, mulches, waters, and plants and of course attracts every armadillo from miles around, that of course, proceed to demolish all his work. So, ole Bob lives in a state of continuous warfare with these critters and loves to go on and on about his latest battle. I do believe he's used every weapon short of a thermonuclear device and is still losing. The wife and I are dillo lovers so this is what we're putting in ole Bob's stocking for Xmas......Mel

Back in the day, I worked as a manager of 2 large cemeteries. One had a funeral home. When someone was cremated the ashes came back to us in a plastic box marked "Herein lies the remains of Joe Blow" Then the ashes were transferred to an urn and the box was disposed of.
I got one of these boxes, filled it with fireplace ashes, wrapped it in Christmas paper, put To: my sister-in-law, From: Santa on the label and put it under the tree at the family Christmas party.
I so wish I had a video camera when she opened her package. I was chased around the house for a looong time.

OMG! This is gonna be fun!
Dammit .... wish I had pictures ... but .... one year I got ...
Ring (White) - Tailed Deer In A Can. It is a real can (very similar to a Planters Nuts can) and when you open it, there is a stuffed and fluffy, BUTT side up deer. I giggled for weeks over that one.
Thanks for having this!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
