Random question... Does anyone know what Lortone changed when they went from the ST10 to the LS10 designation? I have only been able to find the LS10 manual online, but from that, compared with pics of the ST10 (and the one sitting in my garage!) they look identical as far as I can tell. Getting ready to clean it up and always like to have manuals, parts list etc in case I need to start replaceing/rebuilding things. This saw also has "Carborundum" and the funky rotated 3C logo on the control panel, so guessing it is fairly old.
I lucked out and picked up a Mohave Industries 24" saw a few days ago, and in talking to the nice gentleman that was selling the equipment from his father's estate, found out he also had the ST10 and a Covi 16" vibro lap. Needless to say, the deal was made and they all 3 came home to live with me. The 24" seems like a pretty nice saw, definitely not as robust as an HP, and a little different construction/mechanisms, but should work for me... The ST10 appears to be in great shape as well, except for the bearings being a little noisy. They don't seem to have any play in them, so may just be dry from sitting. The vibro also looks barely used, but the rubber "feet" are dry rotted and will be getting replaced. The lap appears to only have the polishing pan (smooth thin "rubber" surface with the green pad) as opposed to the grooved grinding pan, so again, guessing it is an older model.
Sorry for the Wednesday morning rambling.... Will try to get pics posted of my growing stable of toys...
