:help:
Where does everyone get their wire for wrapping? I want to try my hand at wrapping after seeing such beautiful examples. I can buy the regular wire at craft shps but they don't sell flat or half round wire.

I see now that Hobby Lobby and Michaels both carry square wire. I believe they had silver plated and copper at Michaels, but only silver plated at Hobby Lobby. I think they may have had half round too but don't remember for certain. Worth a call to ask if you have one close.
Maybe the vendor list should be in a sticky, this question comes up quite often...

I get most of my supplies from www.firemountaingems.com , there the more items you buy the bigger the discount. With the price of sterling silver so high I am always shopping around, and like both Brandywine & Wire Sculpture. Brandywine has the square & 1/2 round copper. Nancy

I buy silver from monsterslayer.com. You can get any amount you need, rather than the set lengths you get from Fire Mountain or wiresculpture.com and it's really cheaper that way. Service is good and you get credit for your scrap. I save all my trimmings etc in a pill bottle and mail it in when I have enough. Thunderbird Supply Company offers the same service but they do add a cutting charge to your order. I get craft wire from parawire.com and have had excellent service from them. I recently got some square bare copper and stainless steel through Amazon, very good service. The stainless steel darn near killed my fingers though, even in 22 gauge! It did come in square and half round however.

I use to get my wire from bradywine but I ordered from Rio Grande once when Bradywine was out of what I needed. And I stuck with them from then on. I always send my scrap back for credit on my next order. They will cut you what ever length you want. Or you can buy it by the ounce. Rio Grande is a great Company to deal with. So that is my advice on where to get your wire..

I don't know if the stuff I've been using is crap or what, but I get 4 yards of non-tarnish, silver-coated copper wire for ~$6 from a local bead store. It seems to work and look great.
It is craft wire, so I'm guessing "silver-coated" is not real silver, but for what I do I don't really care.
I can't find a good place online, but it is beadsmith craft wire if anyone finds that useful.
