I've been "fondling" the wonderful batch of rocks that I received from stonesthatrock the other day, and finally decided which one to slice up first. I picked what is probably the most plain-looking rock of the whole box. Even though it isn't as "busy" as the others in the box, I think it's gorgeous. I don't know for sure, but I think it looks like some of the black & white agates from around Marfa (Texas), but since I've never seen one in person, that's a very "iffy" assumption. So somebody please correct me if you recognize this. Picturing it on a yellow background was probably wrong - a lot of what looks brown or tan in these photos is really black to gray. Here's the whole set of slabs, with a dime for size And one of them up close and personal Thanks for looking and thanks for any nomenclature corrections! Tom

Nope, not Marfa, that is from Arizona. I don't remember the location but that is some that was in some rough I gave to her. Not Marfa.............no lines in Marfa agates.
