Yes it's somewhat expensive, but if you compare that price to what you'd pay for a commercially made piece of jewelry, it's not bad. I was going to get a piece this summer at a show, but didn't bring enough cash along. I wasn't expecting to buy anything. Then I saw the larimar and "DOH" slapped myself on the forehead lol.
Fantastic pieces Christopher. If you get pix of the finished pieces, please share.

Larimar rough can be a bit pricey but the end result is worth it! I have found that for me it is best to buy it slabbed already. Whenever I have slabbed nodules I have had a very low yeild of slabs due to crumbling. I do not now if it is because something I am doing. if it that I need to learn how to pick better nodules, or if it is just the nature of the stone. I have learned that I have better luck if I slab it thick, 1/2" or more.
I think the moon and star theme is what my friend is going to suggest with her design. I will try and get some photos of the finished project

I really like those cabs. Nice blue. Someday I am going to try to get some of that and try cabbing it. Well, it's nice to dream. Thanks also for introducing me to a new material.
