What can I say? Sitnwrap's story is a perfect example of selfless giving. What a great heart in a young lady. Send me you address and I will be more than happy to send the pendant. Since we are getting close to the end of this contest, I am going to make this question the easiest yet. Just tell me about the best Christmas present you every received and why. Unless absolutely everyone is out buying last minute presents, this should bring in some entries. I think the prize is pretty good this time, too... a nice ocean jasper pendant.

Vance, Thank you so much for these compititions. I know Lyndsay will just love that beautiful pendant. I don't give her my wraps as I have become a bit superstitious. The last two girl friends that my son dated before her, I gave them pendants and within 2 weeks, with both girls, the relationships ended. lol.
I told this to Lyndsay and also told her that I love her too much to give her one of mine. Not taking any chances, she is good for my son. lol.
Merry Christmas!

I think the very best Christmas Present I ever received came a month early! It was the year 2004 when after 12 months of surgerys, radiation and chemotherapy, (I was in late Stage 3 and not knowing if any of that would work) my oncologist told me that I was in remission. I cried so hard, hugged my kids and thanked God. I wanted nothing else for Christmas. I had received the gift of life again and a 2nd chance to live the way God wants me too. I try every day not to let Him down!

Too cool, Laurie. Good for you and congrats! Wow Sheri, I think that could be the best gift anyone could ever receive, and I'm so grateful you got that gift.
One Christmas stands out in my mind. It was the year that my father had some health problems, resulting in having a pacemaker installed. I can remember a moment when we were all opening presents on Christmas morning... My brother, sister, our kids and I were busy tearing off the wrapping paper, absorbed in our own delight, and then something pulled at me and I looked over at my dad, and he had paused in his own unwrapping and just watched everyone. Like it was the last time he might be doing that. I immediately left my pile of presents and sat on the arm of his chair and hugged him, and just sat with him. My brother and sister come over too and sat around him.
That was the gift. It wasn't about the presents we were unwrapping, but the fact that my siblings (and myself) who were known to be materialistic, all focused on what was truly important.
Almost a year later, my father did pass, and it did turn out to be our last Christmas together. I think my understanding of Christmas did change that year, as my priorities shifted, as time moved forward, and I matured.

Goodonya Vance for these comps and great prizes. And while I have had many great presents the one I recall was the year we bought the boat. It was a family pressy and we sometimes would all cram in and do a spot of fishing ,well Jane and the kids would do the fishing and I would put on the bait and take off the fish untangle snags but most of all it was just great family time, the first fish my son caught was a snapper without a tail, but really when the fish came on they had to look after themselves cause dad was "busy". I think the best gift I ever got was last year. I received a book about wire wrapping. That started an addiction that I just can't stop. If it weren't for that gift, I would't know any of you here.
Merry Christmas everyone ;D Amyk

well bringing myself back and thinking as a child, I would say it was a beautiful pink and white stuffed kitty. I must have been about 4yrs old and always wanted a kitten but my parents didn't want a cat for what ever reason so they got me a stuffed one. The fur was so soft and silky and I can almost feel it still. I was so disapointed when I opened that gift. It meant there was no real one. But as the years went on and even when I did finally get a kitten, that stuffed cat was my best friend. heard my secrets, comforted me when I was sad.
The most profound gift was a little before Christmas. We were still mourning the passing of my father-in-law when I found out I was pregnant with my third child. It was the first time I saw my husband smile in months.
Just wanted to share and since my stories don't count, I figured 2 would be ok to tell.
Vance all your prizes are amazing!

The best Christmas gift I ever received was my engagement ring. My then boyfriend drove 4 hours to the house and brought a huge box in. Of course it was a box in a box....ect. When I opened the last box all it had in it was a couple of marbles. I looked at him puzzled, and he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket. Later my mom confessed she knew about it because he had called asking my ring size. She said when he showed up with the huge box she was upset because she had already told everyone he was going to propose and she was afraid he had 'chickened-out'. 28 years later I still have never received a better gift.

When I was a child my favorite gifts came from my grandmother. I grew up in a family of 7 children and my mom and dad. We mostly got hand me down clothes. I was the oldest girl so I thought I was lucky. The hand me downs would start with me, right? Not so. My mom made friends at church with a woman who had a daughter just older than me. So I still got hand me downs. Well, anyway, back to Christmas. We lived in Calif. My Grandmother in Utah. My grandmother always sent clothes. Most kids hate to get clothes, but my grandma had really good taste and would buy us the most up to date styles. Brand new! We would each get an outfit for Christmas. My favorite was in sixth grade. This was the early seventies. Grandma sent me a pink and brown striped mini dress with a very large zipper down the front. I am surprised my mom let me wear it. It was really short, but it was the newest style. My grandma spent her last Christmas at my house before She passed. Thanks Grandma. I miss you.
