Here are a couple of interesting slabs. I found the Cady Moss. The whale bone, and Cady plume came from Lowell. The photography does not do these justice at all....my bad. The Cady Moss back lit Same slab not backlit Cady Plume Petrified Whale Bone Kramer Junction

Very nice! Love the moss! I wonder if that plume slab is off some of the stuff I gave ole Lowell before I moved to Texas. I had collected some some honkin big pieces I didn't move as they were too huge for my saw and had wondered what they'd look like cut open.....Mel

Woody,
I am happy you like the material. I had a fun time piecing together the bucket for you. I'm also happy to see what's inside some of these stones that I can't cut. That Whale is incredible.
Mel,
I hope you don't mind. It is a piece from the Fluorite location in the Cady's. I had enough of the material that I felt I could give up a piece to Woody. He really took care of my students with a box of Maury Moss a while back - sent without expecting anything in return.
Happy new year!

Heck no Lowell. I don't mind a bit. I'm just tickled to see what was inside some of those ones my old saw wouldn't handle without seizing up. I kept plenty for myself too so I'm happy to see it get spread around. That Fluorite Mine Plume is a favorite of mine for cabbing but sometimes the patterns are so busy so as to make it hard to pick which section to cab. Hard to believe the first time I went to that place those huge nodules literally filled a ravine and looked like big frothy dino poops. I sure hope someone found the one on top the hill I started to dig out my last time out. I got food poisoned off my lunch and had to leave a monster that was showing tons of red and gold plume against a blue agate background. Plus I left a stack of good vein plume laying right beside the hole that I meant to go back and get but I was so sick I could barely walk so I forgot it. New rule number uno. Never take Subway sandwiches in your cooler on a desert trip. Excellent media for culturing Ptomaine....Mel
PS: Lowell, if you need more tumbles for your kids let me know. The UV-10 really cranks them out. Also, tell Jim, if he needs some for the club treasure chest or grab bags for the March show, drop me an e-Mail and I'll send him a box. Not that many ranch kids to give stones away to here.
