Good quality rough charoite is available if you look hard enough. Although as John has said, it's very costly. Bob, charoite is a fiberous stone, similar to tigereye, and it is very tough to work. The fibers seperate almost like little feathers and just keep peeling off if you're not careful.

Beautiful! I have one small piece of Charoite that was give to me! Someday I will tackle it! I love the color & pattern of the stone. John thanks for the info, I believe I will save that one for a rainy day.
