I have decided to get a Thumler A-R2 tumbler and I want to put together my own "beginner's kit". This would include the grit and some plastic beads. I see that I can get the grit in five pound buckets and this seems reasonable. From what I read online, the plastic beads are nothing special and I can get them at any craft store. I was thinking of going down the craft store route since most online tumbling stores don't have them in stock.
Am I missing anything? What would you include in a "everything you need to get started" package?
I plan on getting the tumbler from erocktumbling.com.

Hi Boris – Very simple. Call The Rock Shed. Get: 1 Grit Pack for Rotary Rock Tumblers with Pellets $17.50 (1 lb. each of 60/90, 120/220, 500, aluminum oxide polish, and pellets) and another 5lbs 60/90 silicon carbide grit $12.50 therockshed.com/grit.html

The larger the quantity the lower the price per pound. You will use more 60/90 than anything. Most use 60/90. 120/220, 500F, and polish. If you plan on tumbling softer stones get Tripoli also. Plastic from craft store would be fine but I prefer nonabrasive ceramic media.
