Nice selection of stone! - Man I love the Oregon beach - Can't wait to go back. My last trip was a night at Beverly beach and a second night at Cape lookout! Founds lots of goodies, but never did anything with them

The big color-changing piece probably contains calcite or a zeolite that absorbs/sheds water. Drip a drop of battery acid on it and see if it bubbles.

My beach rocks are a by product of my beach gold mining. I got 1/4 ounce of gold from the black sands on a beach near Brookings in two days. The cleaned rocks are easier to find in my tailings. Were the silver nuggets found at Tillamook just picked up or were they panned and sluiced? Some naturally tumbled and polished gold from an Oregon beach:

Nice find! I scooped/scraped up some black sands from a stripe on a beach south of Newport once and there was fine gold in it.
