Here are some rocks that my neighbors picked up for me while they were vacationing at Cape Cod this summer. I don't know what they are, but here goes. Top one is very wavy, looking like a crazy lace; the bottom one does chip at the layers, so when tumbling it sometimes has small breaks in it: Here are a few cuts from the WorkForce; I had to do a "roll" cut, didn't come out very even: A few more smaller ones, uncut; the larger one top right kind of fractrures along the stripes And these are the "slabs": One last group shot of some: I have to say, for the longest time I have put off trying to do the PhotoBucket thing because I wasn't sure how to work it. Well, it is a LOT easier than I thought. Any ideas of what they might be are appreciated. Thanks for looking . . . . Don

Don, I am so glad you are using photobucket now. Once you get over the initial what do I do now, it gets easier. I always adjust my photos first in Microsoft Office picture manager under the Microsoft office tools. I can get them cropped, re-sized to a large web and then uploaded much faster into the photobucket. That ripply one almost looks like a bacon agate. The other in that picture kind of looks like a pudding stone but it could be some kind of granite too. The little ones, I think the one on the far right, black and cream color looks like a rhyolite. I kind of remember it being called something like pophery but I am sure that is wrong. The green one I thought at first site was a limestone and those are pretty soft sometimes and won't take a shine. The cut stone though looks like it is jasper so maybe it will be a great tumbled rock. The red looks like jasper with hematite. The yellow orange looking one is either quartzite or if it is soft, could be calcite. The white ones look like nice solid quartz. Pretty cool batch! Fran
