I just noticed that for some reason known only to my subconscious, I always make a 30x40 cab when doing new material. Now for something that someone may give a rat's kneecap about. This green moss according to the peeps on the slab board comes from the Needle Peak Tx area. No name was given. It has at least 3 different hardness's and is a bugger to work. Even after 2 hours on this one cab, it still has pits. The green part is not only soft as butter but even the 600 grit sanding was taking chunks out of it. Don't really know if it's worth all the effort or not. Finally got my camera to focus on the cab Thanks fer lookin' Curt

It would look a lot better if my cheap little camera would focus on the cab instead of the background.

The colors are fantastic. Only you can answer if it is worth it.

Stabilize it, then polish it again. It might turn out even better!

Looks pretty darn good to me Curt! That gal where I went to the barn sale a month or so ago had a bunch of that but having worked it before and having had the same problems you had, I took a pass on it. I've even had the same problem with the thistle agate and pom pom from that location. Finally, to avoid the undercutting, I started using quartz caps and making them as a doublet. Had the same problem with a lot of the Bishop Rch Bouquet stuff too. More darn trouble than they're worth most of the time...Mel

It's a beautiful material. Too bad it's so hard to work with, could it be easier to make doublets out of it?

Wow. Great. Tough to work with, but very nice. What's really cool is that Trey Woodward has trips to Needle Peak. (Woodward Ranch Blitz is coming up soon.)
