Hey that's very cool. I've known a few folks who had big collections of heart shaped rocks. Here's one I found here on the ranch. It's flint that's been knapped by an Amerind. Don't know what it's use was. I guess injuns had Valentine's Day huh?....Mel

Awesome heart Ed! (yeah, you 2 Mel ) ;D What a fantastic find. My daughter Emily has a whole collection of heart shaped rocks she's found in the landscaping. She sets them on her windowsill so the morning sun shines on them. [glow=red,2,300]Stay warm,[/glow] Nate

That’s a really fascinating find Mel It not a big leap from a Clovis point to heart. And when you consider the myth of Cupid, arrowheads & points there must be strong correlation. No?
what came first ? the <3 or the > ?
And that’s how rocks originally got sent in the mail Valentines Points
Ha ha Ed

Wow Nate ! That wonderful that Emily doing that! It how I got started on roc’n hearts! I found a itty bitty landscape rock that was heart shape then I started looking more did a lil’grinding (a real Michalagelo I was! ) ; then I’d spray them with shellac brings up a fine shine and passed them out to all who rocked! soon I was gluing two pieces together and the rest is history tell her the Sarge think it wonderful thing she’s doing and stay with it! Thursday Brian & I met for lunch We exchanged some rocknroll and good conversation Plus a real treat !
Brian gave me a tour of his work space lab Weights & measurement Its was really interesting to see where he works and a demonstration of some of the tools What a painstaking finicky job it can be But also a great gig! Hang tough, Brian ! like the precision kilograms you hoist!
So your asking? That’s great Ed ! But what’s any of this got to do with heart shapes? Because of the beaut that follows! It’s a marvel of natural geologic romance ! Hounded & discovered by none other than Mr. Rock Vision ---Brian !!

Hey Ed glad you dug the heart! Color me dense but I didn't make the (cap'n) beef heart connection till I saw it spelled out here in living color! ;D
Thanks for the Morrison slab and the tunes! Gave the Scarab a spin and think it's pretty good! Keep forgetting to bring it home and let Christa hear it, I know she'll like it too.
We''l have to go grab some tacos again soon!
