I did a little more cutting on Sunday while I was on the cabber, roughing out some of the preform edges. Here is some more of the stripped jasper(?) *Hewitt Canyon Marble or Superstition Marble* Some lace in the top corner Chinese writing stone that I got from Jamie and Rodney* Indian Script Stone/Arabic Writing Stone Imperial jasper and some Tiger Iron that Randy gave me Group picture Had to go shopping so it cut into my play time but at least I got these ;D Now my saw really looks dirty after the script stone and the tiger iron! *L* Wrong language, that's Arabic Writing Stone ( Indian Script Stone). Chinese Writing stone is a different stuff kind of blackish with white inclusions.....Mel

Fran, there is a local material here that is a dead ringer for your unknown slabs. We call it Superstition Marble or Hewitt Canyon Marble. Its a published location in the rockhound arizona book and one can still get decent pieces off the wall there. I have about 1000 pounds of it and 100% confindant on the ID. There was allot mined from the wall about 8 years ago which caused some local uproar. Becasue it was then moved to mexico and allot comes back as "Rojo verde" agate in all types of carvings, cabs, slabs, and rough.

And it is soft material, but cuts and polishes well.

Freeformcabs, thank you so much! I did feel it was jasper but on the softer side so I believe you are correct. Thank you! Fran
