Amber (Bejewelme) and I took a trip out to Vegas and Quartzsite last week. This trip was to plan our wedding which is going to be next October at the Valley of Fire State Park about 1 hour north of Las Vegas. Here are a few pictures I took on our trip. View from our room at the Aria Hotel and Casino. Nighttime view from the room. Wind carved rocks. More rocks. East side of the park. Lake Mead is somewhere between us and the far mountains. Cute little lizard. This was the only place we saw running water during our trip. Ironically it is named after a Civil War soldier who died here of dehydration. Balanced rock. The park has lots of petroglyphs. The winding road. Typical landscape. The Seven Sisters. This is where the wedding ceremony will be held. Desertdweller had told us about a great Moroccan restaurant in Vegas so we had to try it. We loved it so much we decided we want our reception there. The interior in decorated to the max. Amber really wanted to try the hookha pipes but they only allow that on Tuesdays so she was out of luck. And here was the entertainment. I think we might be the first people ever to have a belly dancer at our wedding reception. lol

I doubt you'll be the first with a belly dancer - especially in that neck of the woods. Great pics, and a marvelous spot to be married.

Awesome pix Tony. Wow would I like to be on my bike running those desert roads! Looks like a fun place for the reception. I hope all the planning goes smoothly for you too.

Oh Tony! Those are beautiful pictures and it looks like a great restaurant! I do have to say though, I never have seen a skinny belly dancer in the Middle East! Must be the Vegas area ;D Fran

Fran, I've never really seen a belly dancer before but I bet the ones in the middle east don't have silicone breasts either. lol

WOW, superb photos! And I'm not talkin' about the last one, 'though I like that one too. The picture, that is! ;D
My favorite is the one with the "winding road". All the scenery pics are great, but that one is unbelievably beautiful.
Nice restaurant! I bet it's gonna be a very pleasant wedding party there.

Adrian, that's one of my favorite pics too.
Redrocksrod, I wanted to go look for that but we only had a rental car. I think we'd need 4 wheel drive to get out there. If Catman and Mrs. Catman come down for the wedding maybe I can convince him to take us out there.

WOW the park is really beautiful! You drive like 15 miles on a long windy road and then the view of the red rocks as you enter is just amazing! Tony propsed he hiked me out to one spot and I was all hot and sweaty and then he was on his knee, very romantic, we are very excited to have a plan! The restaruant is so cool, OMG they wash your hands with rosewater it smells so good, Tony almost died when I said he could give her a tip, LOL I think it will be a fun time!

Man, you two picked a beautiful place for your wedding. I bet Amber can get them to have the hookas available on the day of their wedding. lol
That balancing rock looks like a mamma bear sitting on her haunches.

Great pics Tony. Looks so beautiful.
Just FYI the "castinettes" are finger cymbals that make a sound like small cymbals being tapped together. They are metal rather than wood but the same idea as castinettes. They sound a little like the sound a brass bell makes when muted. I had some a long time and too much chocolate ago..lol. Thank goodness I don't think I have pictures of that... I know, TMI
Glad to see you both had a good time and got to see some awesome scenery. Looks like a great spot for a wedding especially for two really great rockhounds.
