And I want some disc's with or that will fit the 1/8" mandrel, either ready to use or maybe pads I can charge.
I'm wanting to make some designs under an inch based on wherever the stone "talks" to me...whatever looks best for all the small trimmings I have.
Like I got a piece of jade 1/2"x1/2" square...I don't make measured cabs that small and don't do free forms that small either,it makes me bleed too much.(not a dop stick guy)
I would probably rig up some clamp on a stand to hold the piece and a small water drip for cooling it.
So any idea's on where to get some and which are any good? Thx

Try Kingsley North, Pgs 54 - 60 in the catalog.

Okay thanks,I have some of the cheap 20 piece one's from Harbor Freight already.
While adequate for grinding I was wanting something to go from the 325-ish grit to finer. The kits from Kingsley look good for that.
But I was wondering if I made some leather disc's for a screw mandrel...what grade/type of leather would work and thickness. Rough side or smooth side of the leather for polish?
I'm speaking of using the diamond paste in syringes, complete novice with that stuff. Thanks.

Sorry, you hadn't said you'd been there.
You can buy the buffs for cheap or use 1/8" & 1/4" leather, smooth side uses less paste. rough side works the rock a little quicker.

Where can I find a small shaft that goes from 1/4" to 1/8" (or 5/32")?
I've got a Harbor Freight Foredom flexshaft clone that accepts 5/32" shafts. I have some cab grooving wheels that have a 1/4" hole. Lynn

Probably the hardest part in using a dremel is going to be the polish stage (if you have not visited Dan Lopaki try his site for a nice variety of bits. Not cheap but good quality www.lopacki.com/But anyway on to polishing. I've never tried a leather buff with diamond paste on the dremel as I always felt that it ran too fast to really do a good job I may be wrong (actually chances are excellent that I am wrong) but even running those felt buffs with the rouge they supply did not work well for buffing some steel I was trying to shine up. If you try it and it works- PLEASE let us know (ok let me know) as this would be a good solution to polishing some nooks and crannies in some stuff i made (more the crannies as the nooks are pretty hopless at this point).
