finally solved the problem with the lid popping off in the night time and the grit getting dry and then the vibe wasn't working good. had some 18ga brass wire that i made a loop and put it around the bottom of the barrel and over the lid. made a half turn in each end and made a complete loop that holds the lid down now. however, i could not see the rocks without moving the wire off the lid and then pulling it off to see what was happening with the rocks. made a good discovery that a pringles lid fits pretty close and when the wire holds in on, i can still see what the rocks are doing. charlie

I put 2 strips of duct tape on mine, about 8 inches long, and press it down, usually lasts 2 or three loads. Can lift up 2 sides to look in,then press it back.

Hi When I first got mine Tom sent me a rubber clip that clips over the top
(The type of rubber Bungee that you use to tie your suitecases on the roof rack ) lighter thin one
a key ring at the botom fits over the dimple strech the ruber and clip each 1/2 together over the top
Works a treat

Interesting; I've never had my lid to come off. Did you put a tiny hole in the lid to relieve pressure?

It's the longer rocks that I put in that will push it up,not pressure build up. I fill mine till it wont hold anymore, but still circulates them.Never a problem with small rounded ones.
