Gave my self an RTH manicure this weekend (i.e. I didn't use dop sticks!). Finally got the new wheels I bought from John at JSGems put on my Genie and gave it a try. I had bought the used Genie this last year, thinking that I would FINALLY be able to produce a decent cab, in reasonable time, and get a nice polish. Wrong. Although the wheels looked to be in useable condition, they didn't do well at all. My guess is that they had sat on the Genie in the man's hot garage unused for years. The foam in the Nova wheels and the covering were brittle, the diamond wheels down to metal. So, I thought I'd enjoy the nice weather and skip all other responsibilities (Gee....that was REALLY hard to do! ;D ) Just as I tried to start taking pictures, the sun disappeared so you can't see the shine. They all have a very glossy shine except the malacite (or whatever it is). Here's the whole lot: No clue what this one is: OJ (not stabilized & has a number of fractures) Rio Grande Agate from Riverbend Lapidary (J.R. Able) - this stuff is really gorgeous!! Crazy Lace from Amber (in my Secret Santa box from about 3 years ago!) Chrysocola (sp) from Jamie Inside of a miscellaneous thunder egg Big Diggins Agate (just couldn't bring myself to cut off the interesting white & black border More Crazy Lace from same slab Polka Dot (also from Amber....I think she may have found this when she visited Catmandewe) The "unshiny one"... just can't seem to get this stuff to shine! Just love these colors. Can't remember which type of jasper this is. And where they came from: Thanks for looking. Maybe now that my Genie is working I can get back to enjoying playing with rocks. sometimes responsibilites just have to take a backseat to playtime. Love those jaspers, and keep the genie turning. Beautiful work!

If the green one is malachite I think you got to use like 14k paste on a leather pad if I remeber correctly. It is some pretty soft stuff and is a real challange to shine. The first one looks like a crazy lace also. Nice looking stuff you got there

Nice work Susan. Good to hear you got the Genie in tip top shape and get to cab again.

You and your new wheels made a beautiful group of cabs. Even with the sun hiding, you can still see the gloss especially with that Rio.
Ever notice though the manicure tends to be short, what's left of the nail is sometimes as shiny as the cabs.

Thank you all for the nice comments....it's nice to be able to play once in a while. The best part is not being able to hear my teenagers over the noise of the wheels!!!!
