Hi all. I received a box from Daniel(deb193) today that contained some wooden boxes for me to check out and some slabs and he also included his avatar. So I took some pics of how his vacation is going so far. Here he is with a couple of plates of my polished rocks. And here he is enjoying a "sunset" from the "Golden Gate Bridge" Okay, so he's leaning against a couple of the original rivets from the Golden Gate bridge and looking at an agate slab that looks alot like a sunset. Hey, what does he know, he's a rock. Tomorrow he'll venture out into my garage and pose on my grinder, saw, and tumbler. Daniel, he says he's having a good time, wish you were here

He said he can't swim, but would be happy to pose next to all your beautiful jade before he goes home.

Tony, Dan or Ed, not sure where Daniel is going next, but he can take the mushroom jasper home with him.

I should have given him a pair of sunglasses for the GG Bridge shot.

Hi Ed, Tony, Cal -
It must be nice to be near so many other RTH members. I trust you guys to make good use of the avi-stone. Visiting Tony and Cal sounds like a great idea.
Ed - the Golden Gate picture is so creative. I love it. Thanks.
Tony - whatever you feel is safe. Avi-stone is water proof, but I don't know how well any underwater picture would turn out. Having him sit next to a piece of jade on the ocean bottom would be interesting. I will trust your judgment not to risk his premature death.
Cal - I sent Ed a shipping label too, and he has to send back the two wood boxes and two drill bits, so the avi-stone may as well go in the box w/o the huge heavy chunk of jasper. If I thought it could all get into one box, I might try to save the $8, but between the pictures, the drill bit evaluation, the box project, and the nice mushroom jasper, I am certainly getting a lot for two $8 shipping labels.
Thanks guys.

Oh cool..I already have some ideas for Avi (yes...rightly or wrongly, in my mind he's "Avi").

Well "Avi" is fine. Maybe it should be Avi Stone instead of 'the avi-stone' - almost sounds like a detective in a Sam Spede type of novel, or maybe a shady import/export character on the fringe of international shipping ... or LOL, maybe an IRS tax auditor. There I go with my imagination again.

"The dame had eyes black as obsidian and a body like a granite goddess. I knew she was trouble. But then when there's trouble, you can usually find me. I'm Avi....Avi Stone."
Yeah...that'll work nicely.

It was a dark and stormy night. Even the rocks were anxious. They had to call me in to protect 'em... Who am I? Avi... Avi Stone. Just like it says on the sign painted on the glass lettering of the door.

Just like it says on the sign painted on the glass lettering of the door. It was a dark and stormy night. The kind that would make a rock anxious. Thats where I come in. Rocks are my people. Who am I? Avi... Avi Stone. Just like it says on the sign painted on the glass lettering of the door. I knew the dame was going to be trouble. She had eyes black as obsidian and a body like a granite goddess. Later I would understand she also had the grit of a stone cold killer. But then I've always been a sucker for a dame with a little polish. Her name was Jade, ... Jade Butte, of the Rocky Butte Buttes. The first time I saw her was ... SOmeone want to take it from here. I just know the murder weapon will be a jade dagger

in this smoke-filled bar I had ducked into, trying to get out of the rain. She was sitting there, at the end of the counter, with her good friend Aggie, definitely of the crazy Mexican variety, looking bored while Aggie made small talk. I could tell she had something on her mind, as she gazed around the room. When those dark obsidian eyes met mine, they bore into me like a pair of drills that were headed straight for the deepest secrets of my soul.
As our gaze held for a moment, I wondered: was there a hint of saphhire in those eyes? Was she good for a tumble, or would she turn out to made of fool's gold?....

"What can I get'cha Mac?" asked Jasper the bartender. "A glass of Palm Root Sasparilla and a minute of your time" I replied, handing him a $20. "Depends on your question," he replied, pouring my drink.
"Who's the doll at the end of the bar?" I asked. "Can't help you there Mac," he replied handing me back my $20. "Sasparilla's on me, you best drink up and leave! "Don't know how anyone can drink that slurry anyway." he muttered as he walked away. Surprised by his answer, I looked up but she was gone. I didn't even see her slip out, I've got to find her ...
