I picked up another estate that has several loads of rocks. I drove up there yesterday to get a load, it was sunny but cold here at home, after I drove 2 1/2 hours to get there I arrived in a blizzard, I almost turned around and went home. This is what it looked like when I got there. I got the first pile loaded and started on the second pile and it was still snowing. After a few hours I had the trailer almost loaded and the sun finally came out I kept it lighter than last time as I didn't need another ticket. Ready to head home. Lots of unknown jaspers, a little queenstone, some snakeskin agates, lots of tumbling rough, and some real nice obsidian. Thanks for lookin and have a great day.........Tony

Tony,
Gotta question also:
I've seen you take home tons of material. As I posted elsewhere, you're the only I've seen go rock buying with a trailor. You must have tons of material.
How do you have it organized? You have it in general piles, do you syphon off the higher grade material to a garage, do you label/mark/indicated what you have? Just curious, as my stuff is obsessively labeled, but then again, my pile could be added to yours and noone would notice...
Nice haul,
Lowell

Tony, I noticed the 5 gal buckets loaded. It's amazing that plastic didn't blow apart from the cold when you picked them up. What kind of obsidian and will you be selling it on your site? Gary

Queenstone is another Owyhee jasper that comes from a claim close to Marsing Idaho, I believe the Owyhee gem and mineral club owns the claim, but I could be mistaken on that one. Lots of it is real pithy and has lots of voids, but when you get to a real good piece, it is WOW!
I loaded all that myself in about 3 hours. The stuff in buckets was already in buckets so that saved me some time, but all the loose rock was laying on the ground, some under the snow. I just fill several buckets at a time then take them over to the trailer and dump them in.
I have 5 acres out in the country that has several piles on them. The buckets will be placed all together to be gone through later when I have time to kind of sort them out. The rest of the stuff will go into certain piles, if I don't know what it is and it is not obviously extremely high grade it will be loaded into the the back hoe bucket and dumped on the $1 per pound pile. Stuff like the Green Owyhee will be dumped in the $2 per pound pile. If I know what it is and I already have a bin for it, it will go into the bin for that material. I have separate bins for Gary Green, Original Owyhee, Wild Horse, Rocky Butte, Montana agates, Snake skin agates, Plume agates, moss agates, Obsidian, but that is if they are spotted and then plucked out of the pile while we are unloading. Each bin is priced differently and will hold about 2,000 lbs. The vast majority of this material will go into the $1 a pound pile. I am guessing there are approx 120,000-150,000 pounds in the $1 pile now and growing almost every trip.
One of these days I can retire and do this full time. Still waiting for retirement.............Tony

Damn! Just... damn! neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay Tony from the swift completion of the next estate sale. Ever.

WOWWW!!! All I can say Tony is that you really need to update your web site so we can see all the beautiful rocks from your latest finds! Maybe even pictures of each of your rock piles or bins to order from. I would be there just drooling over the whole batch! Fran

Hey Fran, That is a good idea, I can just take pictures of each bin or pile and put a per pound price. Thanks for the idea!
