My trusty Model T would not start over the weekend. I finally got the shaft turning and that poor thing was just a screaming (with no load on it). I pulled out my drill and drilled out those annoying little rivet covers. Well after a good cleaning I discoved the problem. The front shaft bushing (not really a bearing)was wrapped with 5+ years of accumalated dust and dirt. I spend the better part of an hour cleaning it all up and giving the moter a once over. I found some small nuts and bolts and replaced the motor cover/ motor mount and fired it up. Spins like its new. This was my first real tumbler that started me on this strange adventure (obbsession) and it was nice to see it still has some kick left in it! Now I need to figure out of fixing those 3 CE tumblers I have is worth the effort. (FYI the Model T is the tumbler featured in my avatar)

When I first read this, I thought you had a Model T car!!! I should've learned from past posts to read CAREFULLY so you know what people are talking about! ("My wifi is screwed up" vs "wife") I thought "Why is he drilling into a car?!"

Funny thing is I'm pretty strict on maintence- But that pesky motor cover/ mount on the Model T just make routine maintence nearly impossible (up until now!) I will take my hat off to the people at Thumlers (and Fasco- the motor manufacturer) they do build some pretty durable machines! As for the CEs I only have 2 VERY worn barrels (like so worn the ends are more bicycle patch than barrel). Maybe I'll offer the whole lot up to someone on here- perhaps they can breath some life back into them as I just don't want to mess with these! Oh and Meta99- LMAO- yea I miss read that wifi post too! First thing I thought was OH NO Sands got married again!
