These are both local stones I hunted down and caught on a recent rock safari. They didn't put up much of a fight, but they were good at hiding. ;D This one is wrapped in Argentium silver with 3 wires. and the back This one is wrapped with silver craft wire 20G and 28G. I used 2 cage wires for this one. I just noticed a twist in the cage wires on the right bottom and a gap in the front weave. I can fix that. and the back Thanks for lookin. Amy

wow! Nice stone and the wrap job is exceptionally nice, like the weaving technique.

Gorgeous cabs, and gorgeous wraps. I think the weave one is a little much for the cab though, Amy. I like seeing that vibrant color and subtle pattern fully shown off. Great job hunting those rocks too lol. Wish I had stuff half as pretty to pick up around here!

Thanks everyone. Yeah NDK, that weave kinda took on a life of it's own. It turned out to have more up front than I had planned. I might redo that one someday. It's only craft wire anyway.

Gorgeous cabs & I love the 1st one. Not all that crazy about all the wire on the weave. I like my wire to accent the stone. You've got a great eye for hounding tho. Beautiful! jo

I have heard people around here call it agatized jasper. It might have started out as pet wood. I found it in a place with a lot of pet wood. But the pet wood doesn't have much color. It polishes like agate.

I have some like that, but with a little blue too. I have looked everywhere for some kind of name to it. I think my mom would say "It's just an agate". It falls in the category of "pretty rock". Agatized jasper seems acurate with all the solid jasper and agate like clear swirls.
