I just picked up on something WAAAAAY cool ! Iowa has a web-cam set up on an Eagles nest in Decora Iowa at the fish hatchery located there. The female has laid 2 eggs in the last couple days , on camera, no less. Anyone interested in watching an Eagle hatching her eggs , raising her young, ect. ect can see it happen at : www.ustream.tv/channel/decorah-eaglesThere are cams on Barn Owls in California also Hummingbirds , plus several other species. You will just have to check the thumbnails on the bottom right hand side of the video that's playing to watch your favorite critter. Enjoy ! Harley

I set up a different link, try the new one. I used the previous link and was notified something was down. The new link has the nest boxes with the other birds also. I checked in on the other link when I got home from work and there were 3753 other people watching the Eagle sleeping while sitting on her eggs. It's now 11:37 P.M. and there are STILL 810 people watching the sleeping Eagle ! I think we need more rock hunting opportunities here in Iowa !

San Jose, CA also has a webcam on a perigrine(sp) falcon's nest. The nest is on the city hall above the mayor's office. I'm not sure what time of year they hatch thier eggs, though. This last year they proved that these falcons don't necessarily mate for life as was the belief before this. Bob

Last year they had a camera set up on a big rapid in Alaska and you could watch the bears catch salmon right out of the water and sometimes right out of the air. I will have to go check out the eagles. Thanks Harley..........Tony

Man - watching these birds is addicting! I've just been letting it run in the background at work - when I hear them rustlin' around I go peek in at them. The sound of the wind and the birds has actually made for a nice relaxing background noise. Seeing these birds this close up in such a non-invasive way is just amazing! Thanks for the link Harley!
I see it all the time in my dogs (herding dogs) - and to see it in these eagles - it always just completely fascinates me to see INSTINCT manifest itself in animals. That internal know-how that's so deeply rooted...fascinating.

Been watching them on and off all day today. Thanks for the link. I want bears catching salmon. Heck, any other of these types of links will be great.

The link for the bears is through National geographic watching animals .com. The link itself is about a paragraph long and the cam is down now. I will try to post it Sun. as I don't think I can stay awake long enough right now to finish typing it all correctly .

It's Sunday morning and after a solid hour I can't get the link right. NO MATTER what I do the link takes us to the Nat. Geo. store. Guess it's time to call in the first string ! Tony,
