As far as favourites, it's definitely opal, particularly black opal. That's what got me started in the first place; I just sort of fell into the rest because I love rocks (not anything kinky mind you).

Btw jcinpc, that's a beaut looking piece you have there. Is it a piece of a large Yowah nut? It's a little hard to tell. Gorgeous either way.

Welcome, Damon!! I am from the other end of the country, way down south in the Florida Keys. We don't have rocks down here only a lot of coral & it's not even agatized! I do my rock hounding on the internet & have gotten a lot of really nice stuff from some of the good people here on the forum!

its all from the Koroit mine fields, a freind from here in Fla. owns a mine over there outside of Cunnumilla, if I spelled it right ;D
