Those are shining up great. A few of them look to have a rock-eating bacteria problem - careful not to let it spread

just goes to show that a little extra time really rounds things out. looking good! P/S get those crumbly ones out - they could be a problem trying to get your final shine gary

Lookin good Julie!! I've had many in mixed batches that have areas that disintegrate too, especially locally collected stuff. I've even done "some" preforms without testing or even knowing what the stone is at all (haven't been doing preforms long...), put in the vibe to finish up, and my beginning oval turned into a crescent moon, but not the picturesque kind. ~Krystee

Julie, I think you are doing a great job. They have nice smooth surfaces and are really ready for a great shine. I agree with Gary, get those crumbly ones out before the polish stage. Now they look polished already since they are wet. Beautiful and some great colors in that batch.

I THink Toad was refering to some of the endcuts that are real pitted and such. What you want to watch out for is that those pits don't carry any courser grit into the finer stages (I.E. Wash them out REAL GOOD). As long as your careful you should be fine! Nice batch!

Hi All!!!! I am so glad I said what I did about the crumbly stuff!!
I completely forgot that if those made it into the final stages, I may as well have kicked the entire batch out the door shine wise.
I learn something from everyone every time I tumble.
As Always !!!
