When I saw the new Thumler's Ultra-Vibe 10 for $135, my first thought probably should NOT have been "Wow, must be my lucky day! I'll take it!"
Now I'm sitting here with a newly-delivered DRY brass shell shining thingy. Dangit. Is there no way to make this work with rocks?
My Ray-tech 5 died after a few months and I'm sitting on a load of rocks just waiting for final polish.
Ugh.

Hmmmm, you got one of those Cabellas units? One of my buddies did the same thing. I believe that he was able to send it back. I'm not sure what the differences are other than the bowl, from what I understand it isn't as thick as the lapidary bowl and I think the motor is more heavy-duty in the lapidary model as well.

You need the "Industrial" model which has a larger motor and thicker bowl. I'm pretty sure the springs are tougher too. You could use the dry unit with Vibra Dry for final polish. It would be lighter although you maybe would not get the full load of rocks at one time.

The Rock Shed's website indicates that I can use an Ultra Vibe 3 bowl with the 10 frame that I ordered and it will work for rocks. That will suit me, I'm pretty sure, and save me from having to return the other.
Thanks for your help! (And yep, it was from Cabella's)
