The other stone is from Bruce Penninsula Ontario Canada- it's very similar but without the defined pattern Attachments:

I have a love/hate relation with this material. I have quite a bit of it and I love the look of the rock and cut faces, but I almost never like what I see through the template.
It does polish pretty go though.
I look for some of the smaller black orbs to try in cab compositions, and I try to avoid when there are a lot of li green and yellowish grain pattern in the areas around the orbs. It ends up looking too organic for me to enjoy.
The potential for these colors to be complimented by sterling settings seems high. Since I can't find what I want in the frame of a single cab, I have been thinking about laying out several cabs in real space, that capture some of the pattern of the overall slab.
Nice to see others workign with the material. I cut some nice slabs recently and will try to post them tonight or tomorrow.
