Been looking for cheaper prices on grits and aluminum oxide. I found the coarse stuff at Kingsley but having trouble with the oxide, don't know what grit to buy for pre-polish and final polish. I hope someone can help me on this, those kits from lortone are expensive!!

I have not found a better mix of pric and quality then the RockShed.com's AO polish. I think it is 1/4 micron.

Ditto on The Rock Shed. I use 1000F AO for pre-polish and their AO polish. Both work well in rotary or vibratory tumblers for most rocks.

I will third the Rock Shed. I get my Tripoli, ALum Oxide and Tin Oxide there (as well as my 120/220 and 500 grits) Plus they always include a little candy!
