I see what is happening,I think. It looks like your wires are shifting when you turn them, you have to make sure that they all stay together. The distance from the binding wires to the bottom of you cabochon is where, I think, the problem lies. If you can make that part tighter, you will have better results.
I hope that I have not discouraged you because it does seem to turn out ok and you do good work. I know that there are times that I just have to put it down for awhile, then I can look at it and say hello, why didn't I see that earlier.

looks like your using round wire for the ring shank and that is where you will get the shifting issue. Try using square wire for the ring shank and binding it with the same gauge square wire instead of half round at the two sides.
The ring looks good!
