my slant cabber www.hitechdiamond.com/product.php?productid=17520This here is the mount for the discs,it's a half inch arbor with a 1/4-20 thread. That little nub of an arbor is only 2mm high. What I'm trying to figure out is if I can mount a groove bit like the one from Gryphon onto this. I'm also not really sure what all I would need to do it as far as parts go. I already have an idea for a simple work surface I can pop into place and remove easily, basically a wood frame covered with some sheet metal. I'm having trouble finding the inside diameter of the Gryphon groove bit also. Any idea's on why this might or might not work?

it is more like 1/4 - definately not 1/2" ID. You might be able to have one of those grinder bits bored out, but the Gryphette goes on sale for <$50 usually 1 or more times a year. Balanced against the cost of boring, vs the benefit of an extra unit and dedicated groover ... I would just buy a Gryphette grinder.

Take a 1/4" bolt and cut the hex head off. screw a 1/4" nut onto the bolt threads (to be used as a lock nut). screw 1/4" bolt into end of shaft and lock nut to end of shaft. mount grove tool on 1/4" bolt Mike
