Well, this time of the year, rocks take a backseat to my garden. The tumblers are still turning, but it becomes a chore to tend to them. Got one row of tomatoes set out. I can cover one row if there is a late season frost 12 days later March 28 March 28 March 28 closeup of one of my babies.Ipush a 5 gal black pot with the bottom cut out a couple inches in the ground. This makes it easy to water the plant and keeps the wind from hurting the plant. The black also warms up good and the plants really grow. Red Irish potatoes. Spinach, lettuce, carrots, Swiss Chard, onions, poppies. Slag glass is the only thing with color other than green Well, thats it for tomato 101 snuffy

Wonderful garden Snuffy. I would move south in a heart beat but my husband isn't convinced. We can't start planting until early May. I'm ready now but I will have to wait.

Dang, Snuffy, I'm green with envy! I don't even have an area to put a garden, and if I did, I'm to stove in to do the work! My garden is called H.E.B. LOL!!!

I am gardening vicariously through you snuffy, keep those pictures coming so I can see the progress of "our garden" lol. I don't have a spot for a garden right now :-( I do go to the Farmer's Market in the summer here so get some good home grown produce that way. Nice looking garden and nice way to welcome spring.

That garden looks great Snuffy! Those pics make me want to get started on my own. In our area, you have to have an eight-foot fence around your garden or the deer will demolish it. They will even kill the small fruit trees. I've got the fence, but have to wait another month or so for most of our plantings because of the cold wet weather. Garry

I'm so jealous. We had snow on Tuesday, and our last frost date is around May 15. You will probably be eating a tomato about the time I'm planting one.

I am way jealous , first the garden is gorgeous & next we still have frost in the ground (actually snow on the ground too) . Great idea with the black pots around tomatoes, I'm going to try that. Nancy
