I did a couple more over the last week.... This fist one is an agate wrapped in copper. I'm not to thrilled with this one... My weaving still needs work, as long as I keep going in a straight line it looks good, but as soon as I make it curve it gets all funky.... I'm starting to figure it out though . One thing I do like about this one is how rigid it is... it looks really fragile, but it's not... the end of the weave and the end of the coil are tied back into the frame. here's a view of the bail... ... and here's the back. If you notice on the bottom, the core wire from the coil and one of the wires supporting the weave are actually bound into the coil and then tied back into the frame... took a little planning but it really locked everything into place. And now something a little different. Toad said someting about no stones at all... well, how about this? This all started with that big coil in the middle... I was just playing with some scrap pieces of wire, I ended up just coiling a whole bunch together. There is actually 13 wires in that coil in the middle, you can see 12 of them. Then I attached that coil to a frame, did a little weaving, added another coil and ended up with that... thing . .. here's the back, I like the back of this thing... Well, how did I do? Chris p.s. My next new post will be titled " One wrap... fours stones ", if I can pull it off that is We will see....

REALLY like where you've gone with your wrapping, Chris! That first one is very well balanced for the weavings - still open, and more graceful than some of the weaves I've seen. Going to have to go back a year and see what all you've done while I've been away! VERY nice!

That "no stones" thing looks alive! I'd touch it cautiously, afraid not to unwrap its feet, claws or maybe some hidden jaws or spike I like how neat are the backs of your pendants, too. Adrian

Chris....both are just reeeeally cool!! Love it!!
Weaving hint: when you "curve" your weave frame wires, you have a high side, and a low side....one side is wider than the other.....not sure how else to explain that...ok......on the side that's "narrower"....less room to wrap wires around.......wrap once, that is just loop it over, go under, bring straight to the other side again...only on THAT side, you will wrap twice...sometimes 3 times...depending on how much space you need to fill up to make it come out even. The goal would be to keep the wire you are weaving with straight across from one side to the other.......did I explain that right? anyways...that's how I do it, and it seems to work, and still looks full

Chris, you need to quit messin around with putting those beautiful, unique wraps on agates and jaspers and stuff and get you some high end stones (your choice) to wrap. Your style is there, and would look very good around opals or maybe some faceted stones. Take it to the next level bud. The one you did with no stone - put you in a catagory by yourself. ain't nobody doin that but you! Just some encouragement for you to step out. Don't know about anyone else but I'll be waiting to see your next move. You've got talent Chris - Use it - and go buy your wife a new car! Gary

Chris, you never cease to amaze me. I couldn't even begin to think of designs like that much less pull them off. WTG

I gotta agree with Gary. Your talent really is developing at warp speed. I normally don't personally care for the weaves. They look really cool and I can appreciate the work put into them, but it's not my style. You may have changed that opinion with your agate wrap. It's really classy.
