This was in my Hampton Butte barrel, but the color seems too blue. First 3 slabs, each one broke. Some other fractures will break too. (10x6x3) It is dark and some of the blue is ugly. Might try cutting from the other end.

We have hunted the Hampton Butte area several times, and found it to be a source of great variety. Rock and wood of all colors and consistencies come out of there. Some are hard and solid, others very porous and/or cracked. Especially from a tumbling aspect, one side of a piece might polish perfectly, and the other no better than a brick. Then too, some are perfect no matter what the end process.

Ive been to Hampton a few times. Still aint come across anything solid nuff to really work. It does make good samples to polish out. Ive got a huge chunk in shop that looks solid, will give it a whirl one of these days. Later Clyde
