These are two others collected yesterday that I sliced a little off of this afternoon. The first ones have great colors (at least for around here). It is chocolate brown jasper with veins of orange, yellow and green quartz running through it. The blue / black is hematite. This is the second time I have found a piece like this but this one is not quite as colorful as the first. Polishes nicely. The next set are primarily epidote with quartz. My adopted stray cat wanted in the photo so I threw one of her in as well. Mike

Nice quartz, hematite, epidote schist , the chocolate in the fine grained body of the rock and the orange in the coarser quartz veins , is staining from the hematite ,from the metamorphosism . That epidote and quartz, and looks to have marcasite, is almost identical to some ive found here .

Mr Mike: The last photo look exactly like my cat. !! So cool ! She is call Calcal. She is a rock cat. Each time my wife and I go collecting she has to check out the backs and buckets of stuff. I really think she is checking for strange smells. Sometimes she would sick her head down into a clear plastic bag and sniffing and see the dust moving around in the bag. We have had her for 8 years now and has been doing this since was a kitten, so cool.
