Hi and Welcome.
That head unit is for basic learning and could even be frustration if you were to try other than elementary cuts.
Faceting is 'a skill and a perfect machine' and cabbing is 'a skill'.
I didn't think those flat lap ran true enough to do faceting work, possibly with a heavier master lap, but I don't know were you would mount the mast.
The Graves Cabmate will get you into cabbing at a good price and a trim saw too.
With either unit you can start of with silicon carbide (SiC) disks (for laps) or belts (for expando drums/wheels).
Read around here for a while and you'll get the feel for cabbing.
I have a faceting machine but it's too tedious for me now (or I'm too lazy
) Actually I cut an Opal and never went back
.
If you want to do faceting on the cheap, check out jamb peg faceting...

Any rock clubs in your area? Even an hours drive for a meeting or two could be a great benefit in your decision making.
And keep asking questions as there is an endless supply of answers available here.
