Is the first one softer material? Almost sandstone like consistency? I'm thinking it is Flowering Onyx

I was thinking Onyx too, but it is not exactly like most of the flowering stuff I've seen.

OK close enough,I recently bought silver lace onyx from Mel (sabre52) and after cutting a bunch of slabs decided to do a transverse cut to see what it would look like. I'm very pleased w/the results. I often try transverse cuts on different rocks and another great one is tiger iron.

Those little orbs are cool. I can see all kinds of things in them. Garry
