You're off to a great start, I think you could mount a stone using that technique in the bracelet tutorial where the stone is wrapped separately and then wrapped onto the frame.

needs tweeking and polishing up but here it is all done I used 12 gage square and half round for the buckle frame and 18 gage square and half round to wrap the stone

going to epoxy the wire ends and back of the stone just to reinforce everything

Great job! Lets see it on a belt! A large cushion cut picture jasper would be awesome on there.

I have a lot more to do in dialing this in!
the next one will be the belt through type, this one is the wrap type. these are finger busters due to the large gage the wire needs to be so they do not get bent or pulled out of shape
