I just received a box of kaleidoscope jasper in the mail yesterday. When I ordered it, I thought I'd just bang it up and tumble it (newb), but I realize that some of it deserves to be slabbed as well. I was thinking perhaps I could ask someone to cut some for me - in exchange for keeping some of the jasper? Is that fair? I'm open to suggestions :help: Anyway, here's what I've got. Have already got some of it tumbling. Attachments:

Hmmm... that's not a bad price, I was thinking I'd have to put more money into it. I might try that!
But now I'm curious.... a couple of these are around 5" x 6", maybe 2 or 3" thick...what size do you guys consider decent for cutting?
Thanks! Kate

I too would cut for ya! But honestly why not get a tile saw and have a go? I love my saw and am amazed at what I can cut. We are here to help you along if problems come up.

Definately get a small affordable saw. It will open up a whole new world for you and you will want to start cutting everything in sight just to see what is inside.
A Workforce with a 7" blade should should cut in the range of 1.5" to 2.0" By flipping the rock (or rotating the rock) through the cut, you can double the cut.

Looks like great material. I'm picking up my saw this weekend, but wouldn't want to cut someone else's material before I've had some practice. Good luck!
