Hello,
Can anyone tell me if there are vendors in Quartzite (Arizona) at this time of year? (April) I heard that Quartzite is a huge flea market and I was wondering if there are rock and mineral dealers there even when the shows/events are not going on?
Any info would be helpful.

My buddy used to spend the winter months down there,he bought rocks for me from campers that stayed in that area........Plus a few rockshops in the area......... I would think your chances are good.......

There is a very large rock shop at the West end exit of the freeway that is open year round. I think it is called T Rocks. It is visible from the off ramp on North side across from Carl's Jr. Most of the Quartzite phenom ends the end of January. Some stay through February.

Hey Dave, just left Quartzsite. Been there since January. If you cruise Main Street, you'll see a few small rock sellers along the way that are still open. As John said, T-Rocks is your best bet and stays open year round. There are still a couple vendors that are snowbirds at Desert Gardens on the other side of the Interstate, but if you're smart, you'll look around on the ground while you're there, some great little pieces still on the ground there. Gem World and Hardies are still open for at least another month.
I think you'll probably find the place pretty desolate right now. Again, as John said, many vendors still there in February, a little less in March but still worth the trip. Most snowbirds and vendors gone by April.

Cool,
Thanks everyone, I will be passing through in a couple of days, and I will be on the lookout for all of the above.

Well,
Quartzsite is pretty empty at this point. But I really did enjoy looking through all of the rough material at T-Rocks. Wow, did they have a lot of stuff.
Wound up getting a bunch of really nice Chrysocola from them.

T-rocks is definitely a good place to go for rough anytime. Jo, I thought we got all those pieces in deserted Desert Gardens ;-)

Hi Di, We only made a dent, not nearly everything.
T-Rocks is still open & getting new material all the time. We're still here & I see new things everytime we go by. Also, there's a place that sells mostly crystals & they were still open last weekend. Haven't been by there this week yet, but didn't see any signs of packing up.
Don't know if you've been down here yet, but if not, give me a yell & maybe we can get together for lunch or dinner. In any case, drive safely. Remember everyone else on the road is an idiot.
