I went for a run on the bikes yesterday with my friend Jeff. We had been planning this ride for about 4 months, and didn't know until friday afternoon if the weather would hold and we could go. It turned out to be the longest I've ever gone in one day on the bike - 840 miles!
I finally realized a few weeks ago that I'd be riding close to where Ted lives, so I asked him if he would like to meet for coffee. He did even better and invited me over to his house. We had a great time chatting about rocks, and he showed me some of his awesome local rocks he's found, and I got my coffee too! (Thanks Ted, the coffee was fantastic!) I was having such a great time I completely forgot to take pictures.
Ted shared a bunch of his slabs and 2 cab preforms with me. I think if I had my jeep, he would have loaded me up lol.
I did get a pic of the slabs this morning.
There's a bunch of his local stuff including marble, chalcedony, granite, pyrite, coral, jasper and quartz. Then a few non-locals he gave me are peridot & magnitite and a hunk of brazilian.
It was great to meet you Ted, and I hope we can get together again someday.
