I have only cut a couple Montana agates before. I started knawing on some today.I believe these are all Montanas,correct me if I'm wrong. A large 5 lb nodule,I know its not Montana. ;D snuffy

Them is cool Snuff. Are you sure they are not African Black Skin? Did they have a black shiny outside?

Curt, they could be,I'm not familiar with any of them, most had black skin.Are Montanas all brown or tan skinned? Anyway, I likes 'em. ;D

Looks like Blackskin Agate from India. Nice stuff and better than Montana in my opinion (less fracturing).

Yeah, jr,there aren't any fractures at all that I have seen. I never had any blackskin from India, but I guess I do now.

Yea india blackskin. I got some identical. It is a great material and makes some nice tumbles and cabs.

I woulda bet money they were Montanas... Glad I didn't shake on it lol.

P.S. If you have any left, biscuit cut them. You'll get some awesome color splotches like Bob (Bobby1) usually shows off.

Snuffy: Nice slabs! I met a man when we were at a dig in GA whose brother lives in MT. His brother sends him boxes of agates that he collects. My husband was giving him some flint as he knaps. So he drove home and got me some! Yea!
Nate: How does one "biscuit cut" them??? I want to make cabs like bobby's ;D
