I bought a piece of Cobaltite rough in Tucson this year. The seller promised me it also contained native silver. After slabbing it, I cut these. The pictures don't capture the mirror polish. I then got on a bird motif. I've been a pilot for 21+ years and have a fascination with anything that flies. After seeing a similar design on eBay, I had to do these also.

Very interesting looking material. Super designs & well executed too. Was it messy to work with? The metalic like that usually is at least a bit. Mike

Thank you everyone,
Yes, this material is messy to work with. Very, very messy. It makes cutting covellite or psilomelane seem like a party. Everything turns black and takes days to remove from your fingernails and hands. The Cobaltite also contains arsenic. I wore a respirator and everyday after cutting I would wipe down everything and take a shower.
The material is too soft to put in a vibe. It is one of those stones that just pops when it gets to around 1200 grit.
I had a lot of fun cutting these and still have a little bit of the rough left. I can't wait to do some more.
