Howdy folks, Just pictures of a few more cuts. The first was a pleasant surprise, a really uncommon type of palm wood and the second, though small, was an interesting example of the midnight sable type shrink wood. Anyway, here are the pics....Mel Matt Dillon calls this paint wood for the color but it's actually petrified palm that has partially decomposed. The decomposed areas are full of various colored jasper -like fillings and the whole slab is well agatized so it's shrinkwood that is palm and painted all kinds of pretty colors "shrinkpaintpalmwood" *L*. Closer shot of one of the slabs so you can see the palm fiber pattern: The small slabs of black shrinkwood. Still waiting to score a real good slab of this stuff but I have lots more still to cut.
