Those are beautiful and you have quite a talent! My Grandma made each of the Grand kids make a 9 patch quilt by the time we were 9 years old. It gave us the basic sewing skills we would need and sometimes, I just love to pick up some scraps and cut pieces to sew together. I go more for bigger and easier blocks to put together now. Last small piece one I did was a double wedding ring for a king size bed. That one just about did me in! Fran

when i put these in the photobucket....i put captions on them but didn't realize that it didn't come thru..... 1) tennessee waltz......2) 9 patch with a twist.....3)machine embroidery......4) a small amount of my thread (kinda like you guys and your rocks) displayed in an antique desk drawer, i think i might have held text type for a printer.....5) dimentional hand applique......6) crossstitch....and 7) my pain in the ass pride and joy.....is 169 one inch squares....no two pieces of fabric the same...

i don't sell any of them....i would have to ask an outrageous price to make anything at all,,, the material alone can cost close to 150.00 depending on the size....the hours you have in the work and paying someone to quilt them....it is truely a labor of love.....if anyone has a home made quilt.....PLEASE take care of it.....in our world of instant gratification....there aren't alot of people willing to take the time to make their own quilts anymore.....but thanks you mary ann.....the wall hanging with the daisy in it is made on my embroidery machine....very good eye...lol

Your reply to take care of old quilts, brings to mind one my mother had, that now my oldest daughter has. Over 80 years ago,the young girls who were neighbors out in the country, made a quilt, each square on it had the name of the girl sewn on it that made that square. The best I remember, there were around 20 or more names. My 94 year old aunt is the last one alive that helped make that quilt. Thanks for bringing this up.

That is one remarkable display. You do great work and since you don't sell them some in your family are very fortunate indeed.

I am sure you have Amish in Ohio, I always loved all the Amish quilts in Lancaster where I grew up, very difficult to make, these are lovely, obviously a hobby you love! Amber
