i had posted a tread on here that where i completely ran down lortone tumblers. i must apologize. i was ripped of on ebay, i found out that my lortone was actually a chicago tumbler. first i will say say to lortone, and then i will say sorry to anyone i may have discouraged from buying a lortone. apparently i do not have an opinion on lortone tumblers because apparently i do not own one. But i do have an opinion on chicago tumblers.....dont buy one. I also have an opinion on the username (metrogift) on ebay. they say its lortone....but its chicago, and they take the chicago plaque off. they advertise as lortone. this tumbler has completely fallen apart on me. i will fix it but i basically will take the motor and rebuild every bushing, fan, pulley, and even redrill the hole where the rods go through. hats off though to gem-zone on ebay, who sold me the pietersite, and helped me discover the rip off lortone i bought.

Save the barrels. They will fit Lortone. There have been many posts on rebuilding CE tumblers using Lortone motors and pulleys.

hey if you want you can put a post about metrogift advertizing lortone and its a lie -- in our good bad and ugly section -- so other members dont fall for the same false advertizing

Sorry you got ripped offf. I also complinent you on your honesty. It takes a strong person to admit when they were wrong. On the side note those barrels are decent. I got a couple that lasted a good long time. I have rebuilt CE tumblers so many times I can almost do it in my sleep. If you need any parts let me know. You can have anything I got for free. Just covershipping and its yours

Thnaks for the update. There have been many threads over the years documenting the Chicago electric problems. Always good to have it refreshed occasionally for the newbies.

Sorry to hear you got ripped off. I am running three chicago tumblers at the present time but the working parts are Lortone. When I get one the first thing I do is take the cover off and throw it away. Lets more air to the motor and I replace the belt with a Lortone. The bushings for a Lortone 33B will fit your chicago. The 33B motor has to be modifed just a little. longer bolts (#6 x 32 and nuts) or longer metric bolts. Need a 3/8 inch spacer in behind the motor and a new fan pully for the motor. If you do rebuild I hope this helps or anyone else who has one of those chicago tumblers.
