the old loretone 10" it has been good to me paid 350 this one i bought last year 95.00 its a nelson 12" this is my 18" i got last year for 800 and it has been nothing but a money pit i had to rebuild or replace almost everything i'am sure i could of bought a new one for what i have invested! this is the clamp i made holds the rough real tight thanks for looking!!!

Those small Lortone saws do seem to be well loved. I got one of those Nelson open 12 inch saws in the bottom of a truckload of rocks and equipment but the vice assembly was missing:( I like the jaws on your 18. My 18" hydraulic has the clamp down style vice like that, a jaw like that would be the ticket for round rocks.

I have a 10" Lortone just like you're first pic. It's been great although the oil is getting close to the point of needing to be cleaned. Do you have some more pictures of the nodule clamp? That looks like it would work great for the slippery Brazilian agates I have. Do you think the clamp can be scaled down to fit in the Lortone saw?

i used a piece of box tubing cutout one side then cut the radus and the teeth its held everything i've cut so far if you want i can take it off and get you more pics
