Sounds to me like the tumbler you're using might be too small Try a larger one so you can get a bigger load. Add some Ivory soap to keep things lubricated, sit back and relax. Be patient, these things take time. Hope this is helpful ;D

A bigger tumbler might be in order ! you might just be using too small equipment for the natural formations you are trying to burnish. Get the biggest one you can handle with both hands..take your time and lots of patience ....Ivory soap....and I think you will find that it will work....above all take your time..this doesnt happen all at once!!

If your using a vibrator instead of a tumbler, you may want to increase the speed. If that does not work, try some media.... if all else fails, you may find your using too abrasive grind and need to soften it up a bit....

The answer is simple... just keep rotating! Don't be affriad to get down and personal with your stones... and always remember your cleaning cycles... clean away the old residue, and never use the same tumbler on a different stage. Keep the water ratio correct... keep your fluids up...if you spring I reccomend vasaline as a sealant. ;D

Greetings All, One lesson I've learned is that you should pay attention to getting real clean before you start. Any dirt or grunge left on at the beginning tends to hang around during the tumble and can cause discoloration. So wash up with soap and water, use a scrub brush for that ground in grime, and then rinse well. Nothing like that nice, clean feeling to help get the rocks off to a good rolling WilliamC
