Hiya Folks, Sorry it's been so long - 18 months since I last polished rocks, Criminal!! Yes it's Norfolk Harry again, I'm back to my old tricks and setting calibrated cabs in silver plate commercial settings. Thought you guys would enjoy the pics from my 2 recent projects. Did a couple of other cabs too but I managed to get pics of these. First is the ring, 18x13mm cab - nice cut, came together well for such a tricky material, very thin cab at about 2.5 to 3mm. The pendant is brushed silver plate with a 14x29mm cab - tricky cut as my template does not have that size! So free cut to shape. Great profile though, and I was chuffed with the cross cut "plasma" effect rather than the stripes. Enjoy and I promise I'll be back with more soon - and I shan't be stopping for ages - that's a whole 'nuther story. Cheerybye! Harry. - GlamRocks - MrSparkles! 18x13mm Malachite Ring 14x29mm Malachite Pendant

Hi Harry! So good to see your work again. That is absolutely gorgeous! Love the brushed texture on the pendant. I'd love to learn how you did that sometime. Looking forward to more! Jo

Hi Everyone, Well it's like being back at home again, such a lovely bunch of folks to share my fun with. Thank-you all for being so kind and welcoming. I'm glad you liked the pieces - I cut a few every week and it does my soul good to see my work being worn and enjoyed when I wander around the office here. I'm glad you got to enjoy it too! Jo - Always a pleasure - The brushed finish is as supplied by my settings folks, it's plated silver brushed to a satin finish. I guess you could get the same effect with a small wire brush and a plain setting although I've never tried. They also do a burnished finish which is similar to the satin - but more restrained - I think they add another coating after the brushing to soften the effect further. Tanya - Glad you liked them! Adrian - Ah - not a groovy job like yours but it keeps my hand in Fran - I agree, it's been far too long! But I've learnt my lesson and shall be sticking around! Looking forward to sharing some more soon! Toad - They are commercially available here in the UK - I know that Gloria does supply to the states if your thinking of ordering some. NDK - From a lapidary expert like yourself - that is high praise indeed - made me most chuffed! Roy - Glad you liked them - I have to say my customers think the same! Ken - I never fell out with my rocks - just the habit of polishing them - but it's good to be back! Donna - Tiz me! Yes indeed - like a bad penny or a dodgy boomerang - you think your shot of me once and for all and then I creep back again Thanks for your thoughts! Lori - Thanks Buddy - I have to say it felt strange to be cutting again - but my fingers remembered what to do so that's OK! He he he! Glad you liked them. UncleStu - I'm afraid I gave that one away already! I know but it made her day I can always cut another one. I do cut a few for sale, I shall let you know the next if you are interested. Thanks for your comments! Cheers Folks, it's great to be back and making some nice stuff again. Harry.
